9x12 or 8x10 I Love Eyes

Well, I finally got my wrap up from scanning taken care of, so here is how I am doing on the "I Love Eyes" photo. Please comment on what you think of the background. I am thinking about spreading out the darkness behind the face. For some reason, when I scan drawings, it comes out lighter than it really is. In the original, you can see the shading in the face, neck and shirt.
I was really glad of how the ear and hair curls came out. Tip: Sometimes I have go rest my hand on a part of the picture that I've already drawn, so I put a piece of paper over it, so my hand doesn't smudge the drawing.
And, the original so you can compare:

Waiting on Scanning

I am so sorry I haven't been able to post the scanning of the "I Love Eyes" photo. For some reason the "scan" button moved, so I have to get some help. Sorry to keep you waiting, but I hope it will be up by Sunday!

I Love Eyes (by Emily)

I've paused working on the color photo of Anna Popplewell (Susan Pevensie) from Narnia, so that I could work on a photo that I had my eye on from the first time I saw it. I've been working on it in basically all my free time, so it is almost finished. I will scan it when I'm finished all the way (which may be tomorrow), but for now, I'll just post the picture. This is a picture I got permission to draw from Picture 'Em Photography. Click on the link to see Emily's blog. I haven't figured out what background I should do for this picture, because if I do black, it could bring out the white and not the shading, and if I shade with a very light H, it could make the whole photo look too light. Anyway, I'll decide once I'm finished the shirt. Keep checking my blog over the next few days for the drawing.

Notes to You:

1. I changed the photo for the front of my blog, but I can't figure out why it's going off the edge on the left side. Tell me how you like the new front. 2. I am devoting this Summer to doing a lot of drawing projects. Please email me if you would like me to draw your child or yourself! We can talk about the logistics such as the photo, price, frames etc. 3. For an update of what I am drawing! Here is the photo I am doing now: It is in color and is coming out REALLY well! It will be either 8x10in., or 9x12in.

9x12 LB

This photo is of a little boy next door to us. I especially like these pictures because I totally "own" them. Since I am into photography, (follow my photography blog: reflectionsofpassionphotography.blogspot.com) I take my own pictures and then draw them. I especially liked this half of the face.
